LIEN NEGOTIATOR
Career Consulting Partners has formed a partnership with one of the largest injury firms in the state of California which has been in business for over 30 years. We currently seek a Lien Negotiator who is experienced, detail-oriented, and passionate about client advocacy to join our growing team. The Lien Negotiator will play a key role in maximizing client recovery by effectively negotiating and resolving medical liens. You will work directly with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other third parties to reduce outstanding lien balances and ensure compliance with state regulations. This role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
DUTIES:
- Review client files and negotiate lien reductions with medical providers, health insurance carriers, and government agencies (e.g., Medi-Cal, Medicare).
- Serve as a point of contact between the firm, providers, and lienholders, ensuring timely updates and resolutions.
- Track and manage lien-related issues across multiple cases, maintaining accurate records in case management software.
- Ensure all lien settlements comply with California state laws, federal regulations, and firm policies.
- Draft and execute lien reduction agreements and maintain correspondence files with providers.
- Work closely with attorneys, case managers, and accounting staff to ensure all liens are resolved before disbursement.
- Research and resolve complex lien disputes when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of experience negotiating liens in personal injury or workers' compensation cases (California experience preferred).
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medi-Cal, ERISA, and private insurance lien processes.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing lien reductions.
- Experience with case management software (e.g., Needles, SmartAdvocate) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle a high-volume caseload.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial transactions and compliance.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Base Compensation: $30 - $35 hr.
