Career Consulting Partners is currently partnering with a preeminent, highly decorated law firm specializing in Civil Litigation defense. We are looking for a driven 3 - 5 year Associate Attorney with a strong background in civil litigation to join our dynamic defense team. In this role, you will take full ownership of an active insurance defense caseload, working independently while continuing to elevate your advocacy skills. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel in discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation, we want you on our team.
Ideal Candidate:
Independently handle civil litigation and insurance defense files from inception to resolution, with appropriate partner support.
Take and defend depositions; attend court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
Prepare high-quality pleadings, motions, discovery, and substantive legal research.
Develop defense strategies, manage discovery, and negotiate settlements.
Maintain direct, professional contact with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and experts.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California
3–5 years of civil litigation experience, with a strong preference for insurance defense.
Demonstrated experience taking/defending depositions, arguing motions, and managing written discovery.
Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload from inception to resolution.
Familiarity with billable hour targets, task-based billing, and insurance carrier reporting guidelines.
Exceptional legal writing, research, and negotiation skills, with a track record of effective client communication.
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation Range: $140,000 - $195,000
Quarterly performance-based bonuses
