Trust & Probate Estate Litigation Paralegal

We are seeking a Litigation Paralegal with a strong background in probate court matters to join their West Los Angeles office. This role is ideal for a litigation-focused paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take ownership of substantive casework in partnership with the attorneys. Trust and probate estate administration paralegals without litigation experience need not apply.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Draft court filings, including pleadings, motions, and supporting documents
- Prepare and respond to discovery, including drafting requests and responses
- Draft subpoenas and manage all related follow-up with third parties
- Gather, organize, and maintain client documents and case materials
- Prepare and organize incoming and outgoing document productions
- Create detailed indices of client, opposing party, and third-party documents
- Develop case timelines and chronologies
- Prepare exhibits for depositions, mediations, and hearings
- Assemble trial documents, exhibit binders, witness lists, and other trial-related materials
- Provide comprehensive trial support to attorneys during all phases of litigation
- Conduct research on procedural rules and substantive law, including cite checking, Shepardizing, and Bluebooking
- Perform other clerical and administrative duties as needed
Qualifications:
- A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal degree program is a plus
- Certified Paralegal or Certified Legal Assistant designation a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree is also a plus
- Minimum 2 years of paralegal experience in probate, trust, estate, or civil litigation
- Familiarity with Smokeball case management software is a plus
- Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and MS Office is required
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while meeting deadlines
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $70,000 - $115,000
