Business Litigation Attorney (2 - 4 yr)

For over 70 years, they have kept pace with California’s growth, and with more than 100 attorneys, they have the resources and experience to offer the highest quality representation in a wide variety of legal matters. We are seeking a 2 to 4-year Business Litigation Attorney. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in complex commercial litigation, excellent legal research and writing skills, and a desire to take ownership of cases from inception through resolution.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Handle all aspects of case management from intake through trial and appeal, under partner supervision.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions (including motions for summary judgment and to compel), and discovery requests.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda, briefs, and analysis for internal and client use.
• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Prepare witnesses and clients for depositions, hearings, and trial.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and third-party witnesses.
• Collaborate with partners and clients to develop litigation strategy and case theories.
• Assist with or lead trial preparation, including drafting pre-trial motions, exhibit lists, witness outlines, and jury instructions.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates, answer questions, and manage expectations.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and draft settlement agreements as needed.
• Supervise or mentor junior associates, law clerks, and paralegals where appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with court deadlines, local rules, and procedural requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the state bar.
• 2–4 years of commercial or business litigation experience at a reputable law firm.
• Comfortable handling depositions, law & motion, and discovery independently.
• Exposure to shareholder disputes, real estate litigation, contract disputes, and partnership conflicts is a plus
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Bill 1900 Billable Hours Annually

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

• Salary range is between $140,000 - $180,000 + Bonus Potential
