Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist

For over 70 years, they have kept pace with California’s growth, and with more than 100 attorneys, they have the resources and experience to offer the highest quality representation in a wide variety of legal matters. We are seeking a Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist to join the Los Angeles office. You will work closely with the Director of Finance and Accounts Manager, ensuring that collection efforts align with the firm’s policies and financial goals.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Manage accounts receivable collections and other firm receivables in coordination with the Director of Finance.
• Communicate with billing attorneys, accounting, and data processing teams to resolve billing issues.
• Contact clients to follow up on outstanding invoices and payment delays.
• Monitor and manage electronic billing, ensuring invoices are submitted and payments are received.
• Assist in ensuring accurate entry and processing of billable time and pre-bills per firm policy.
• Support cash application by assisting accounting when payment allocations are unclear.
• Notify the Director of Finance and General Counsel of potential client disputes that may lead to claims.
• Conduct quarterly reviews of unbilled time, ensuring compliance with firm policies, and follow up with attorneys on account statuses.
• Maintain and update quarterly reports on client billing and receipts for up to five fiscal years.
• Assist attorneys with client account-related projects and the preparation of Memorandum of Costs.
• Support the Director of Finance with special projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of experience in collections, preferably in a law firm environment.
• An associate’s degree in a related field is required (a Bachelor’s degree is preferred).
• Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of firm leadership.
• Professional demeanor with a client-focused approach to collections.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive mindset, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

• Salary: $90,000 - $120,000
